Family Self Sufficiency Program – FSS
FSS PROGRAM
The Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS) is a program that helps Housing Choice Voucher and Public Housing participant achieve GOALS to reach self-sufficiency with the ultimate goal of positioning the family to longer require HUD Program assistance.
The program allows families up to five years to earn escrow funds and achieve their self-sufficiency goals.
The FSS Program offers:
• Resources to gain, retain and improve employment through goal planning and assessments
• Resources to gain and increase job skills, training and education
• Savings accounts
• Case management to help families connect to community resources and supportive services
• Training to improve money management and financial literacy.
FSS Services include: Educational and Career Development, Job Readiness, Transportation, Childcare and Parenting, Health Services, Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, Emergency Services, Financial Assistance, Legal Assistance, Food Assistance, Furniture and Clothing, and Homeownership Programs and More.
